As a therapist, I hold an intention for the highest good of each client to occur. I believe that intuition and creativity are at the heart of all successful therapy. I teach my clients methods of living that help them attain their goals. I provide caring feedback when useful. Empathy and respect are essential for people to grow and thrive.
I believe these things to be essential to a psychotherapist:
- Willingness to hear uncomfortable thoughts, fears and beliefs that a person may have about his/her life.
- Intention to listen without judging.
- Desire to understand by seeing the world through the eyes of the client.
I have 25 years experience providing psychotherapy and 17 years providing hypnotherapy. I received a Master of Science degree in counseling from Georgia State University in 1990 and a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Texas at Austin, 1983.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and have had my license to practice therapy since 1993. I am a member of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and of Licensed Professional Counseling Association of Georgia (LPCA). I am certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists (NBCCH).
In addition, I have extensive training in Neuro Emotional Technique, earning certification in 2003 and in Energy Medicine, certifying in a two-year Eden Energy Medicine program in 2010.
